What is specific performance?

Specific performance means that you’re not suing for money. Generally Florida courts and pretty much all courts like to resolve things through the payment of money.

You can sue for $10,000, $100,000 or a million dollars, and you might be entitled to it. However, when you’re seeking something that’s rare or something that’s unique, be it a piece of land or a work of art, money may not be what you want, therefore Florida courts allow you to sue for something under specific performance. This means that you want to be given something or you want the other party to actually do something.
