If child support is not paid, must visitation be allowed in Florida?
Yes. Visitation should never be withheld due to a non-payment of child support. Most of the Florida courts have a standing temporary order that is issued by the court as soon as a dissolution action is filed. The standing temporary order directs parents to uphold their obligation to ensure the children have frequent and ongoing contact with the other parent. There are other avenues for which to seek relief from the court for non-payment of child support.
