How is child support calculated in Florida?
Child support is calculated based on the formula that is set forth in the Florida statute. It depends upon the income of both of the parties and it also depends upon the parenting plan or the visitation. Generally, it’s calculated on overnight visits. The percentage of overnights that each one of the parents has with the child. And there are other reasons to reduce or deductions that would be taken from child support for such things as health insurance, day care, and other things that a parent is providing to a child.
