What is a registered agent?

A registered agent is utilized for the secretary of state and the filing status and the registrations for businesses. So, it’s actually the name of the individual who’ll be designated to accept service of suit papers in a lawsuit. On occasion, the state will actually send their information and communications to the registered agent, but the primary purpose is to accept service of suit papers.
